Ru-Mix Vol. 10: Bolly-licious

Ru- Mix Vol. 10: Bolly-licious

It's so delicious. LoL. Anyway, I'm back with a hot new bollywood mix, this time focusing on different genres (not a qawalli in sight!). The cool thing is you can put this mix and Ru-Mix Vol. 5: Fanaa on the Dancefloor on the same playlist, hit shuffle and have yourself a rocking Bollywood Party! I feel like on this mix I've showcased some very unique but mainstream voices -- much more different than your typical Bollywood film (oh Alka Yagnik, just stop) and way more fun. Anyway, tracklist is below -- enjoy!

1. Beedi Jalai Le
the hottest song of 2006 -- Sunidhi Chauhan sounds great on this track. The chorus roughly translates to: "Light a beedi with the fire from the heart, if there isn't enough fire at home then go get it from the neighbors..." full lyric translations can be found here.
2. Mayya Mayya
the "humma humma" of 2007, this song has a great Turkish flavor. Composer A.R. Rahman (Bombay Dreams) gives us a real treat
3. Bure Bure
keeping with the Turkish theme, this is a fun boy's song where the chorus roughly translates to "Hey, we're (naughty) devils, no one can escape us"
4. Ni Main Samajh Gayee
an old song, but highly underrated... i absolutely love A.R. Rahman's compisitions and Richa Sharma's sultry voice does this song wonders
5. Hitchki (Akbar Sami Mix)
finally, my favorite contemporary Indian singer, Sonu Kakkar (also on Fanaa...), is back with a hot new item number. the song is done in a typical Marathi folk style -- i think she's singing about her love making her heart skip a beat (literally - hiccup).
6. Ishq ka Tadka
Adnan Sami has one of the most unique voices in Hindi playback today, as does his companion in this sexy number, Sonu Kakkar. The title translates to "A Piece of Love"
7. Sajnaji Vari Vari
Sunidhi Chauhan is riding the radio waves in Mumbai right now with this hot track about how much she loves her darling
8. O Sikander
Sonu Kakkar and Kailash Kher really rock this song -- ok its a qawwalli but i had to sneak at least one in!
9. Aika Dajiba
Vaishali Samant sings anohter typical Marathi folk song -- they're really fun to watch on video as well... I don't really understand Marathi but from what I've read this song is about a very strong man (with a big mustache).
10. Crazy Kiya Remix
i didn't really like this song at first, but then when Ashwariya Rai danced to this hot number in Dhoom:2, I was instantly addicted.
11. Main Deewana (G-Mix)
Dancer/Choreographer Ganesh Hegde tries his hands at singing and gives us a very Usher/Justin Timberlake-y track with enough desi spin to call it his own
12. Meter Down
Adnan Sami is back with a hilarious and hot new song about how money makes the world go 'round
13. Dhoom Again
many of you have heard the song song, Dhoom Dhoom, from Ru-Mix Vol. 1: Take Me Out, this is the follow up to that song and the hindi original. I also didn't like it at first, but then i saw this. and this.
14. Kiss Me Baby
another fun Adnan Sami song -- this one about how "Hot n' Spicy" (Garam Masala) the ladies are
15. Baan Far Kay
yes, I just plain love JoSH. and I think it's so cool that they collaborate with Nelly Furtado so much. (also check out RMV7, and RMV8 for their Promiscuous and Maneater remixes)
16. Right Here Right Now (Dhol Mix)
Actor Abhishek Bachan tries his hand at singing(?) this hip hop influenced song. I think the Dhol beat is what steps up its lieability for me.
17. Teri Masti
JoSH and Rishi Rich collaboration -- really hot Bhangra-ish track.
18. Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo (Bijli Mix)
The original "folk" mix is on Fanaa. Here's Sonu Kakkar at her raunchiest--just how we like her, Dirrty like Christina used to be.
19. Ya Ali (Suketu Mix)
This song is completely lifted off of an Arabic track -- oh well, it's still hot.
20. Aa Bhi Jaa
Sonu Kakkar and Ganesh Hegde are perfect for this song about yearning. This is my dream song to choreograph -- it would be so much fun. Anyone interested dancing to it?
21. Billo (Lounge Mix)
Sunidhi Chauhan rocks this mellow beat with a little help from musical genius Ustad Sultan Khan.
22. Bindu re Bindu
I love this guys voice. Unfortunately I have no idea who the singer is. This is a cover/remix of a song from the 1960's film: Padosan
23. Chaandi Ke Teri Surmedaani
Brand new track. Sonu Kakkar (yes again) guest stars over a hot dance beat with Sukwinder Singh handling the reins.
24. Beedi (Suketu Mix)
The hottest remix of the hottest song of 2005. (see above)

So fun! I'm cleaning while I listen (and perhaps stopping in front of the mirror to watch myself dance...shhh don't tell anyone). Was there a Miami dance done with Ni Main Samajh Gayee? Thanks for another great mix!! Now come visit!!
