MPHO ("mphooo") breaks on to the scene with this catchy first single. Great lyrics too.

Casting Amy Winehouse comparisons aside, this remix makes for a fun bongo number.

Originally recorded by Róisín Murphy, the song was too poppy for her. Thank god Sophie recorded it, it's perfect for her sound.

Sanno Solavas is Rafael Lelis' pseudoname. Probably b/c "Heartbeat" will never be released as a single. I didn't care much for the original but again this track exemplifies the wonders of the remix.

I cannot get enough of Little Boots! Dancing should be everyone's remedy :)

14. On My Shoulders (WILDLIFE! Remix) - The Dø

Never did I imagine I would enjoy a remix of this, especially since I fell in love with the haunting original (on RMV20), but here I am with my foot in my mouth.

This song is one of my most played, and my personal anthem moving forward.

Although my music tastes tend to fall on the pop / house side I do enjoy my fair share of hip-hop. It must come from Hema & Aarti, my best friends in college who definitely enjoy their "dirty south" music. Anyway, this mix here is definitely rooted in hip-hop & r&b. An unreleased gem from Nicole, produced by Timbaland and Keri Hilson - "gonna work your body like some cardio!"

Ci-Ci samples A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) and it works. As much as I like the original, this is quite enjoyable as well. Too bad it probably won't be a single due to Chris Brown's current infamity.

My cousins are really into Jesse McCartney. I never took notice (except for that awesome MSTRKRFT Remix of Leavin' on RMSE: Please Don't Stop the Music) until this track. I think it's Luda that makes it work for me.

Lil Wayne is on every track out there so its inevitable the brown kids get in on it. Cute song.

Ru-Mix: New Faux Disco

This is a special mix I made for Patrick Sandora's blog. Pat is a friend of mine that asked me to guest blog as part of his Summer Friday Series. This is another house mix but it has a different type of energy than "In For the Kill," it's a little more... melancholy? At least at first, it is. There's definitely a story here if you listen in order, and it also features my favorite new artist, Fred Falke and his amazing remixes.

01. Love Don't Dance Here Anymore - Tiga - This song is just epic, the piano introducion is brilliant but when the beats come in you can just picture yourself pouring your heart out on the dancefloor

02. Heavy Cross (Fred Falke Mix) - The Gossip - The original single is just ok, but Fred Falke brings this to another level

03. Wrong (Rauhofer Mix) - Depeche Mode - Peter Rauhofer turns it out. WORK.

04. Black and Gold (Steve Pitron and Max Sanna Mix) - Sam Sparro - An oldie but the best remix I've heard of this song about searching for spirituality

RMV24: Electronic Poet

First of all, sorry all of the Ru-Mixes are coming out of order... the truth is I made the covers before the mixes were ready. Also, wanted to apologize for sending so much out so quickly - When I took the break I was still making my mixes for myself and I still want to share - want to make sure I send it out before it gets (too) stale.

Anyway, here we have a mix that's more in the same vein of Movie Star, but brings it to a whole different level. If you're a fan of acoustic guitars, soft sounds, breathy vocals - this mix is NOT for you. As the title implies all the songs have an electronic touch and some of them have been ripped apart and are barely recognizeable from their non-remixed original versions. I LOVE this mix. It's dark, dirty, poppy, and glam all at the same time. I live for it at the gym, at home when I'm getting ready, driving around (when I do)... etc. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!

Ru-Mix Vol. 25: Dil Dance Maare Re

Oh boy, Bollywood music was quite depressing as of late, fortunately I've been able to quite a few tracks over the last 2 years... that will help you have a rocking bollywood party, or at least if you want to just dance around mad in your bedrooom :) The beginning of the mix is definitely more traditional, colorful Bollywood fare, while halfway thru the "club mixes" creep up to keep you moving. Overall it's a fun mix... If anyone is in NYC I'll be at Sholay next week hopefully dancing to some of these tunes - come by if you're ready to DANCE :)
